CioccoShow - Chocolate Fair

Food & Wine

The countdown for the sweetest event of the year has started! "CioccoShow" is a chocolate fair in its 7th edition and provides a stage for some of Italy's finest chocolatiers. The event kicks off on the 16th of November and goes on till the 20th, giving everyone lucky to be near Bologna during this Willy Wonka style fair a real treat 5 days like no other!

Bologna Magazine will definitely be there so if you would like to see our pictures from the event make sure you sign up to our Facebook or Flickr profile so you can live some of the event with us via the pictures we will be uploading!

The event truly holds dear everything chocolate, not only allowing many of Italy's finest chocolatiers to show off their latest creation and giving out awards such as the "Best Cherry Praline" and the "Best Innovative Chocolate"; the Fair also features a Chocolate Library with over 300 books on the topic of chocolate, whether they be cook books or stories such as Roald Dahl's "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".

As always with chocolate it inspires what some would consider mad in normal circumstances, but chocolate has the natural ability to make anyone and everyone return to their childhood selves: the local newspaper "Il Resto Del Carlino" has put up a very special prize that is straight out of WIlly Wonka's world... Win your own weight in chocolate! I will definitely be eating alot before participating in that competition.

There are also various learning courses throughout the event to deepen your knowledge of chocolate allowing you to learn the secrets to chocolate marvels that you can use to impress friends back home.

Last but not least is CioccoNight, being held on the saturday night with stands open till midnight and what promises to be an eventful night with entertainment and many many surprises.

Hope to see you there... if not check our Facebook page!
