CUBA, Where are you going?

From Fri Dec. 18th to Mon Jan 23rd, inside the spaces of "Vicolo Bianchetti 8" in Vicolo Bianchetti 8 in Bologna, there will be the phot exposition "Cuba, where are you going?", by Paolo GottiThe collection of shots taken by of Paolo Gotti intends to investigate, through the exterior look of the photographer, the beauty and contradictions of the largest island in the Caribbean that - until now - has been one of the last strongholds of communism worldwide. Written by lauding the pro-US propaganda or, on the contrary, in defense of the regime of Fidel, to illegal chicken fights organized clandestinely in the dense forest; from the Malecón, the waterfront between the favorite places of Havana, to the magical atmosphere of Baracoa, the Far East of the island village.

It 'a revolution that is waiting for the country, a change that will coincide with the fall of the embargo. Maybe you will see even more modern cars, which already can be bought in Cuba at exorbitant prices, and this will cause the final decline of the picturesque - but highly polluting - American cars of the '50s. 
The island is changing, therefore, although it is difficult to assess at what speed. Perhaps the same one that determines the access to the Internet, available until a few years ago only in hotels and internet points of the few locations of the state telephone company ETECSA cost of $ 6 per hour. Today, wifi zones emerge in various focal points of the city, where you can connect to $ 2 per hour (which still considering the average Cuban salary of 15-20 dollars a month, it remains a high cost), and install internet at home remains prohibitive, accessible only to the privileged few.During the exhibition will be presented also the calendar theme "CUBA. Where are you going?" which contains 13 of the most significant images of the show.
