FERRARA OPEN FOR RESTORATION
Events | Art | Ferrara
21-23 of March: three days dedicated to culture and restoration in a beautiful city to discover.
Bologna is the bulwark of Emilia Romagna for artistic, food and educational culture, but the whole region pursues the same goal: to enhance culture’s role and spread its knowledge for everyone who appreciate it. Ferrara, beautiful city one hour far from Bologna, is ready to welcome the 25th edition of the International Exhibition of Restoration of Museums and of Cultural Enterprises. From 21st to 23rd of March, the whole area of Ferrara Fair will be full of events, conferences, expositions and much more.
The ambitious idea behind this fair is to create a dedicated space for cultural enterprises: a meeting place where to show, express, interact and cooperate with inspiring international experts and realities. Every activity planned into this big event wants to increase the Italian artistic, historical and environmental heritage’s value into the market logics; this is one of this fair’s main features which helped obtaining an international certification to attest its fundamental and strategic role into the global scenery of expositions.
Focus of the three days of the International Exhibition of Restoration are, obviously, the most relevant interventions on cultural and environmental sites: Italian museums, institutes with special autonomy and regional museum poles will partecipate. New entry of this 25th edition is the Cineteca of Bologna, cinema foundation renown at a global level, with its laboratory of cinematic restoration “L’immagine Ritrovata”: for the event, it will project some restored classic movies. Also interesting, the new born thematic area reserved to vintage cars and motorcycles.
Here, some collateral initiatives that will make your trip to Ferrara definitely worthy:
SPECIAL WORKSHOPS & PROJECTS

The International collaborations confirmed into the Fair program are:
- Museum of Hermitage of Saint Petersburg, that will propose several workshops

“FERRARA OPEN FOR RESTORATION”
Moving from Ferrara Fair Department, two spots into Ferrara city are unmissable:
Visit and Aperitivo at Palazzo Gulinelli
Culture and pleasure go together for those who will be part of the Fair’s huge program: Palazzo Gulinelli becomes the setup of a curious exposing space and an additional meeting about the restoration of the palace, damaged by a seismic event in 2012. The reconstruction involved the most innovative techniques, gaining some important certifications for its eco-sustainable method applied to an historical building.
Inauguration of Biagio Rossetti’s exposition
Architect Biagio Rossetti’s operas are internationally known and let Ferrara gain the recognition of “City of Renaissance UNESCO World Heritage”. During the fair’s days, you have the possibility to attend the inauguration of a dedicated exposition.
