GALLERIA CAVOUR

Bologna City | City Guide | Shopping

Galleria Cavour is the place to go for high-end fashion shopping in Bologna's historic city centre.

Just off via Farini, Galleria Cavour offers some of the most exclusive labels in the World. Here you can find the most exclusive Italian labels, from Prada to Fendi alongside international greats such as Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent and Burberry.

Soon to open as well are Emporio Armani and Bottega Veneta rounding off nicely the incredible collection of shops available to the public.

The Italian tradition of having these commercial galleries dates back to the belle époque which started around the end of the 1800s and continued till the beginning of first World War, a short period in which these centres for the shopping elite were being built around the whole of Europe.

They were a place were the rich and powerful could come and find the best artisans selling their wares and offer their impeccable services.

Now, according to an Italian national newspaper, Galleria Cavour is one of the most expensive and renowned shopping centres in all of Italy coming 4th after Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga in Milan and Via dei Condotti in Rome.
