1770, Bologna: 14-year-old Mozart just passes a difficult counterpoint exam.

This is a surprising backstage story, told by Beatrice Buscaroli in her book “Mozart in Bologna. The exam at Philharmonic Academy”. On August 30, 1770 in Bologna there is the annual Festival of Academic Philharmonicist, in the church of San Giovanni in Monte. The concert is sumptuous but the surprise is even greater: there indeed, in one of the most elegant churches in Bologna performs "the famous small Austrian Mozart". The young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was in Bologna for the exam of counterpoint that will allow him to work at the courts of Europe. Among the stories of the diaries and letters and conduct original task which still remains in the archives of the Academy, the reality of the fateful day was very surprising and amazing. The story of the journey and examination of Wolfang Amadeus Mozart in Bologna is one of the most fascinating stories of the '700 Italian. In the background there are extraordinary characters like Father Martini, the famous Farinelli, the castrato who spent his old melancholy in the Bolognese countryside, travelers and aristocrats vied for the young prodigy, stories, memories and a lovely piano minuet.

The book is one of the series "Good Night Books", run by the same Beatrice Buscaroli and published by Minerva Editions, a publishing project strongly backed by the Group Duetorrihotels to celebrate the history of Italian cities - Bologna, Genoa, Florence and Verona - in which the Group is present with its structures (in Bologna: Grand Hotel Majestic Già Baglioni).
