Top 5 Hotels in Bologna

leo

First on our list is the Grand Hotel Majestic Già Baglioni.

The only 5 star hotel in the city of Bologna, situated on Bologna's main street and within walking distance of most major Bolognese landmarks, it is by far the most prestigious place to stay in Bologna. As with most buildings in Bologna, it is also part museum: the Hotel was built in the 18th century on top of an old Roman road, part of which can be seen inside the hotel. The hotel also has a very prestigious restaurant, “I Caracci”, named after the artist's of the frescoes that cover the restaurant's ceiling. The hotel not only offers classy accommodation to its lucky clients but also a experience not to forget, something that most hotels do not offer to tourists. Here is the official website.

Second on our list is I Portici Hotel & Restaraunt.

The hotel is modern and gives a welcome break from the ancient streets of Bologna. Its clean and white modern interior is spacious and welcoming, unlike many modern hotels. I Portici also offers an excellent restaurant, this one recognized by the prestigious Michelin guide with a star, the only restaurant in Bologna to boast one. Situated in Via Indipendenza, it is a perfect base from which to enjoy Bologna and all its marvels. Here is the official website.

The third hotel is Corona d'Oro Hotel.

This is a classic hotel has a 4 star luxury rating and is also one of the most sophisticated hotels in the city. It's part of the chain of hotels named Bologna Art Hotels which has a total of 4 hotels throughout the city and Corona d'Oro is there flagship hotel. Corona d'Oro is one of the more central ones, it is 3 minutes walking distance from the main city piazza and situated in a side street allowing for peace and quiet after a hard day of visiting all the museums and exhibits of Bologna. The marble bathrooms are beautiful and the main reception hall is both large and quiet, perfect for meetings or for some quiet reading.

Fourth on our list is Hotel Novecento.

Like Corona d’Oro, it is part of the Bologna Art Hotels chain, however, this one is the most modern. Having been opened in 2003, the hotel offers suites that are all different from one another giving the client a taste of European art deco in the 1930s. Hotel Novecento has a 4 star rating and is around the corner from the main Piazza Maggiore. The hotel is both elegant and modern and a perfect place to stay during any stay in Bologna.

The last hotel on our list is Royal Hotel Carlton, situated between the train station and the city centre.

The Royal Hotel Carlton is an enormous structure: it has an excellent restaurant and bar, a fitness centre to rival a gym and courteous staff. This hotel is perfect for business trips with its free WiFi and international environment. Situated 10 minutes walk from the city centre and 5 from the train station and just outside its doors an almost infinite choice of excellent restaurants, the Royal Hotel Charlton of Bologna has all the makings of a great hotel while on your perfect holiday.
